Earlier this month I traveled south to Portland for a workshop with the wonderful Françoise Weeks. It was a joy to play with flowers and arrange in the wild botanical style that she is known for- I think it so suits this part of the country and my walks around Seattle's Discovery Park have become treasure hunts for future woodland arrangements.
There is something so peaceful and creative about making this type of arrangement. This one I made reminds me of a very fertile alien landscape.
My woodland bridal bouquet. I learned so much over the three days.
Françoise is a great teacher and such a cool lady- so generous with her knowledge. We talked about so many different aspects of the floral industry and she is the kind of teacher who respects your own individual creative process. It was wonderful.
Portland was lush with flowers and plants spilling onto the sidewalks. I stayed at the Evermore Guesthouse a couple blocks away from Françoise's and I wanted to share one photo of the stained glass inside.
